"An escape room is a physical adventure game in which players are locked in a room and have to use elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles and escape within a set time limit, or having completed a mission." [Wikipedia]
Many escape rooms, including Escape Hampden-Sydney, are centered around a theme, narrative, or mystery that the players must uncover as part of their experience. As such, participants are required to sign a waiver agreeing not to reveal details of the puzzles or narrative in order to prevent another team from having an unfair advantage or diminishing their experience.
What can you expect to find in the H-SC escape room?
No prior specialized knowledge is required in order to participate.
Copies of the rules and waiver will be available prior to your scheduled escape attempt. A signed copy is required in order to participate.
All Escape Room attempts must be scheduled ahead of your visit to guarantee staff availability and ensure the room has been fully reset from any previous attempts. Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment and allow for approximately 90 minutes to read and sign your waiver, review the rules, complete the escape attempt, and for post-game debriefing.
As a general rule, escape attempts will only be scheduled during normal library hours and will be dependent on the availably of Escape HSC staff. Most attempts will be scheduled for weekday evenings and weekends.
Library hours (check the library website for holiday hours):
Monday - Thursday, 8am - 1am
