Share Your Experience with HSC! |

The campus is closed. Graduation has been canceled. Class has gone virtual. It goes without saying that the greater Hampden-Sydney community is dealing with unprecedented changes. Much like the 1918 Spanish Flu Epidemic, we are living under unique circumstances where our reactions to and reflections on these uncertain times will be the subject of future historical inquiry.
To capture the lived experience of the Hampden-Sydney College community during this time, Bortz Library invites students, alumni, administration, faculty both current and emeriti, and staff to submit evidence of their experience. This can be in the form of journal and diary entries, emails, texts, screengrabs, photographs, videos, interviews or audio recordings, memes, illustrations, or any other digital or paper traces that reflect the ongoing situation around COVID-19, including being displaced from student housing, working from home, the shift to online instruction, social distancing, and self-quarantine.
You are welcome to submit now or plan a more long-term project. If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Almond, Archival & Digital Projects Librarian, at salmond@hsc.edu. If you are ready to upload your materials now, you can do so using this form. You can upload files as often as you like.
We look forward to hearing from you and collecting your responses! Spread the word about the project on social media with the hashtag #HSCCovidChronicles and stay safe out there. |
