First Floor |
The first floor's quiet study space includes several tables and numerous study carrels for students to use. A back entrance to the library can be found in the Computing Center, leading out to the library's main parking lot. The first floor is also home to the Hampden-Sydney Escape Room. |
Second Floor |
The second floor is the main floor of the library. This is where our main entrance is located, and it additionally houses the library's service desks, the Fuqua Technology Commons, the Office of Academic Success, and many library staff offices. On this floor patrons will find over 30 computer stations (both PC and Mac), several book scanners, and group study rooms 1-3. We also offer coffee service by the main Circulation Desk, and the back porch is open to patrons (weather permitting). |
Third Floor |
The third floor of the library houses the main book collections. Study rooms 4-11 can be found on the east and west sides of the building, and additional study carrels and tables can be found throughout the floor. Snack and drink machines are also located on this floor, near the main staircase. |
Fourth Floor |
Additional study space can be found on Bortz Library's fourth floor, in the multifunctional study area overlooking the back parking lot. This space is also often used for presentations and other events. The library's government documents collection, UPLS collection, Hampden-Sydney collection, and Wilson collection are also housed in the book stacks on the fourth floor. |
