Classroom Instruction
 

Faculty are encouraged to arrange for specialized instruction in their classes! Library instruction sessions can be designed to meet students' specific assignment needs as well as cover general research and information literacy instruction. 

To request library instruction in your classroom, please fill out the request form below or contact the Research & Instruction Librarian, Kate Lynch, directly. Once the form has been submitted, you will be contacted to finalize the arrangements for classroom instruction.

  • General catalog and database use (can be geared towards beginners or more advanced students)
  • Scholarly vs. popular sources
  • Developing a research question
  • Developing a search strategy
  • Evaluating websites and popular sources
  • Evaluating news sources and "fake news"
  • Citing sources properly
  • Finding specialty sources for an assignment (i.e. conducting research for public policy, finding primary sources, etc.)
