VIVA Cooperative Borrowing Program: Home

Bortz Library is a member of the Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA), the consortium of nonprofit academic libraries within the Commonwealth of Virginia. In keeping with VIVA's mission to "provide, in an equitable, cooperative and cost-effective manner, enhanced access to library and information resources for the Commonwealth of Virginia's nonprofit academic libraries serving the higher education community," VIVA has implemented a Cooperative Borrowing Program among its member libraries.

Through this Cooperative Borrowing program, Hampden-Sydney students, faculty, and staff may request to borrow materials on-site from any participating member library. Participating institutions may lend to borrowers from non-participating institutions at their discretion. Please see the guidelines below for more information on borrowing materials from a VIVA member institution.
